How to Pack a TV for Moving (Step-by-Step Rookie-Proof Guide)

Packing a TV for moving is one of those rookie panic moments you don’t want to mess up — because cracked screens and blown speakers can cost you big. But with the right plan, you’ll move it safely without surprise damage.

Here is the proper step to pack a TV for Moving 👇

✅ 1. Get the Right Supplies

Start with a sturdy TV box — the original is best, but adjustable TV moving boxes work too. Grab bubble wrap, packing tape, foam sheets, and a soft blanket.

✅ 2. Unplug & Prep the TV

Dust it off, unplug cords, and remove any stands or wall mounts. Pack those accessories separately and label the bag so nothing gets lost. Also a good idea is to tape the labeled bag with tv accessories to the back of the tv this way it doesn’t get lost.

✅ 3. Wrap & Cushion Properly

First, wrap the TV in a soft blanket to avoid scratches. Then add bubble wrap for extra protection. Keep it snug but don’t crush the screen.

✅ 4. Box It Upright — Never Flat!

Always pack the TV upright. Place it in the box, fill gaps with foam or packing paper to stop shifting, then seal it tight with tape. Mark the box “FRAGILE” on every side.

✅ 5. Load Smart — Last On, First Off

Your TV should go on the truck last and come off first. Rookie mistake: stacking heavy boxes on top or laying the TV flat — that’s how screens crack.
